Tannhäuser, Kitzwalde and Troldtøj
The three first summer cottages of the area were built by Frederik Graae. They were named after the Danish poet Holger Drachmanns literary works. Drachmann had worked as a journalist in the area in connection with the flood. The houses were established in art nouveau with painted quotations from Drachmanns literature and were ingeniously decorated inside of the painters Carl Holm and Olaf Rude. They were two-storey houses with balconies, so that the view over the dike to the Baltic Sea could be enjoyed. This style element is a part of many of the first summer cottages. The three houses are situated in the area between Marielyst Strandvej to the north and Birkestien to the south. |
